Hi there!

Can you guess who’s who? BTW – we’ve “adopted” a brother just to throw you off… 🙂

If you’ve got this far, you most likely know already about Gramada Construction and the fine work we have provided for families in Portland area for the past 20 years.

Your friends are confident in referencing us, and rightfully so. They have found that we do more than putting a roof over their head and maintaining it clean, we provide them with the best deals in doors and windows customized to their own needs, we take care of the finest details in framing and carpentry work, but more than that, your friends have found a steady partner they can trust their worries with.

Yes, we work in your best interest. It is our highest priority to bring to you the best deals for your specific needs.

Now we’d like to confess that behind our business there is a life-long partnership. Yes, we’re more than business partners. Our journey has started way more than 20 years ago. We’ve learned to play together, and share our toys, too. We go camping together. We celebrate life’s ups and downs together. We are brothers.

We know what family values mean and we’ll treat YOU as family also.

Vasile is the oldest. He’s is the preacher of the family. Serious and thoughtful, He delights in reading God’s word and sharing the good news from the roof top. Literally. His wife, Viorica, is a great cook and competes only with her mom in making the most delicious cabbage rolls or pastries. Dennis, their one and only son is thriving under so much attention! He loves all creepy creatures, would never stop fishing, play soccer or chase reptiles.

Viorel is the second brother. He thinks twice or even thrice before speaking. (Don’t you wish you had that quality?!?) Whenever we get to a dead-end, he picks up each piece of the “10,000 piece puzzle”, and figures it out. Detail-oriented and loaded with endless patience, he is the one we count on when we melt down. His wife, Liliana Mirela and children Melissa, Andrei & Loriana keep him anchored and happy.

Olivian is the third brother. Wise and trustworthy, he loves connecting with people and has more friends than he can keep up with. Sought after by clients, friends and family, Natalia – his wife – has a lot of competition to keep up with, but knows he’s all worth it!

(Our youngest brother, Daniel, currently lives in Nashville, TN, with his lovely wife Cristina. We save a set of tools for him, waiting for the day when he’ll finally give in and move back. Until then, he visits several times a year, especially when he knows we’ll be skiing or camping.)

Thank you for your time reading about us.

We hope that we can assist you in making your home even homier!

From our family to yours! The Gramada Brothers

My First Day

I stole my brother’s birthday. Really.

Poor guy. He was born on a beautiful spring day. The second child for a lovely couple. He was surrounded by mostly divided attention. His older brother continued to demand his first-born rights as a new sibling announced his way in.

“Well, at least I have my birthday party to enjoy!” he thought. Right? No way. I stole it. I decided to arrive exactly on his birthday. His very first birthday. No other time would suffice.

Now, if you really stop to think about it, he received the best birthday present ever. A tiny little baby-brother to play and cuddle with, to fight with over sparse toys and buttered slices of bread, to hide secrets from or share headaches with, to get in trouble together or save each other from pain, to go to school with and share in life’s beautiful and inevitable journeys.

So, my dear brother,  it is our birthday today.

As I receive phone calls, text messages, Facebook posts from our dear friends and family members, I cannot accept them without making sure that you know how much I appreciate You.

You’ve been there for me ever since I was born and I am so proud to tell everyone that you are my brother, and my birthday pal. (Yes, it’s fun watching people get confused that we share the same birthday, but we’re not twins.)

Happy Birthday, Brother, and to many more years!
